IE7 Beta Fails CSS Test

Microsoft recently released the first beta of Internet Explorer 7 to the MSDN developer community. Unfortunately, it looks as though IE7 is destined to fail the Acid2 browser test due to its buggy implementation of Cascading Style Sheets—even after the final version is released. David Shea has a helpful review of the first beta and hopes that the next beta will bring substantial improvements. Meanwhile, Paul Thurrot of Windows IT Pro is calling for an outright boycott of IE7.

Update: Chris Wilson at Microsoft posted some comments about CSS support in IE7, indicating that more improvements are on the way. This is good news!
